About this worksheet
“Fact Families: × and ÷” is sheet 7 of 32 in our free 3rd Grade Math Worksheets collection, written for children aged 8–9. It focuses on fact families.
In the set it comes after “Division as Sharing” and before “Multiplication and Division Word Problems”. Working through them in that order, one sheet a day, builds the skill a step at a time.
What this worksheet practices
3.OA.B.6 · Common Core Math · Grade 3
Operations & Algebraic Thinking
Children work on understanding multiplication and division alongside addition and subtraction, solving word problems with all four, and spotting patterns in numbers.
How to use this worksheet
- 1
Time the fact sheets once a week and chart the times. Beating last week is more motivating than any score out of thirty.
- 2
Before "Division as Sharing", share real objects — twelve crackers among three plates. Dividing is easier to understand when a child has done it with their hands.
- 3
On "Area and Perimeter", ask your child to trace the perimeter with a finger and count the squares inside separately. Mixing the two up is the most common error.
