About this worksheet
“A Snow Day Surprise” is sheet 10 of 32 in our free 3rd Grade Reading Comprehension Worksheets collection, written for children aged 8–9. It focuses on point of view, one of two sheets in the set on that skill.
In the set it comes after “The Amazing Monarch Journey” and before “Octopuses: Ocean Escape Artists”. Working through them in that order, one sheet a day, builds the skill a step at a time.
What this worksheet practices

How to use this worksheet
- 1
Ask your child to underline the sentence that proves each answer before writing it. Finding evidence is the skill 3rd grade tests most.
- 2
Read the questions first on nonfiction passages. Knowing what to look for turns reading into a search, which keeps attention on the text.
- 3
Encourage complete sentences that restate the question: “Nora opened a lemonade stand because…”
