About this worksheet
“Quadrilaterals” is sheet 30 of 32 in our free 3rd Grade Math Worksheets collection, written for children aged 8–9. It focuses on shapes.
In the set it comes after “Bar Graph with a Scale of 2” and before “Multiply by Multiples of 10 (Part 2)”. Working through them in that order, one sheet a day, builds the skill a step at a time.
What this worksheet practices
3.G.A.1 · Common Core Math · Grade 3
Geometry
Children work on recognizing, drawing and reasoning about shapes and their attributes, and how shapes can be split into equal parts.
How to use this worksheet
- 1
Time the fact sheets once a week and chart the times. Beating last week is more motivating than any score out of thirty.
- 2
Before "Division as Sharing", share real objects — twelve crackers among three plates. Dividing is easier to understand when a child has done it with their hands.
- 3
On "Area and Perimeter", ask your child to trace the perimeter with a finger and count the squares inside separately. Mixing the two up is the most common error.
