About this worksheet

“Growing Patterns” is sheet 16 of 25 in our free Kindergarten Logic & Problem Solving Worksheets collection, written for children aged 5–6. It focuses on patterns, one of two sheets in the set on that skill.

In the set it comes after “Help the Bee Find the Flower” and before “Logic Grid: Who Has Which Pet?”. Working through them in that order, one sheet a day, builds the skill a step at a time.

How to use this worksheet

  1. 1

On the sudoku sheet, let your child cut out small paper shapes and place them before drawing. Moving pieces makes it easy to try an idea and change it.

  2. 2

Read the riddles aloud and stop after each clue. Ask which pictures are still possible — that is the reasoning, and it matters more than the final circle.

  3. 3

For "Which One Does Not Belong?", accept any answer your child can explain. The explanation is the point of the page.
