About this worksheet
“Drive Along the Road” is sheet 6 of 23 in our free Pre-K Fine Motor Skills Worksheets collection, written for children aged 3–5. It focuses on pencil control, one of 12 sheets in the set on that skill.
In the set it comes after “Color Inside the Lines” and before “Cutting Practice: Shapes”. Working through them in that order, one sheet a day, builds the skill a step at a time.

How to use this worksheet
- 1
Use child-safe scissors and show the "thumb on top" grip. Cutting a straight line is the first goal; curves come later.
- 2
Short crayons encourage a better grip than long ones — snap a crayon in half for tracing sheets.
- 3
Let your child trace a shape with a finger first, then with a crayon, then with a pencil.
