“Ways to Be a Good Friend” is sheet 21 of 22 in our free Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning Worksheets collection, written for children aged 3–5. It focuses on friendship, one of two sheets in the set on that skill.

How to use this worksheet

  1. 1

Name your own feelings out loud during the day. Children learn feeling words from hearing adults use them, not from worksheets alone.

  2. 2

Practise "Star Breathing" when your child is already calm. A strategy that has been rehearsed is one they can reach for when upset.

  3. 3

Keep "My Feelings Today" on the fridge for a week and talk about what changed their feelings.
