About these pre-k social-emotional learning worksheets
These Pre-K social-emotional worksheets help a three-to-five-year-old name feelings, notice them in their own body and choose a kind or calming response. Faces, pictures and short cards do the work, so no reading is needed.
Social-emotional skills predict school success as strongly as early reading and maths. A child who can say "I feel angry" is far less likely to show it by grabbing or hitting, which is why naming feelings comes first here.

How to get the most out of them
- 1
Name your own feelings out loud during the day. Children learn feeling words from hearing adults use them, not from worksheets alone.
- 2
Practise "Star Breathing" when your child is already calm. A strategy that has been rehearsed is one they can reach for when upset.
- 3
Keep "My Feelings Today" on the fridge for a week and talk about what changed their feelings.
Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning Worksheets — questions parents ask
- What is social-emotional learning in Pre-K?
- Learning to recognise and name feelings, manage big emotions, get along with others and make kind choices. These sheets practise each of those in a playful way.
- My child cannot read yet. Can they use these?
- Yes. Every sheet works with faces and pictures, and a grown-up can read the short cards aloud.
