About these kindergarten handwriting worksheets
These kindergarten handwriting worksheets cover every lowercase letter from a to z and the numbers 0 to 10. Each row shows a model, four dotted copies to trace and space to write on the child's own, on three-line handwriting paper.
Lowercase letters make up most of what children read and write, which is why the Common Core asks kindergarteners to print them (L.K.1.A). The numbers sheet supports writing numerals to 20 (K.CC.A.3).

Kindergarten Handwriting Worksheets — questions parents ask
- Uppercase or lowercase first?
- Lowercase appears far more often in books, so kindergarten focuses on it once a child can form basic strokes. Our Pre-K alphabet tracing set covers uppercase letters.
- Should I correct pencil grip?
- Gently. A tripod grip is the goal, and short crayons or pencil grips help, but grip matures with age.
